Sunday Stamper - Week 263 - Everyday I Write The Book

Goooodly Morning Stampers and a very happy Sunday to you all.  Many thanks for all the fabby entries for last weeks challenge.  This week the new theme is... WRITING.  To join in with the Sunday Stamper is easy as pie: make a little something, it can be anything you fancy.  Add in the theme AND some stamping and then pop back here with a link to the place you are showing your entry.  If you don't have a blog/web-photo hosty thing, you can also pop an email over to me with a photo of your entry, or you can join in on Facebook by simply tagging my name to your project photo.  The challenge will remain open until 21:00 Saturday 29th July 2013.

My entry this week is all about a little cog that I was given to play with by Jean from Busy Bee Crafts in Sheffield.   It is made by the MDF Man and is a cool chunky little fella and I had fun altering it.  The cog had already been covered with papers so I gave it  a very light wash with cream paint to tone down the backing paper.  Next I stamped my fave script stamp all over it, using Jet Black Archival ink.  Once I had heat set that, I gave the cog a bit of Distress Ink to blend some colour onto it and then a very fast application of Glue & Seal which reactivates the Distress but if you are quick enough, it blends is beautifully, you have to work quickly with the brush though.

Next came a smidge of stencilling through a script stencil and Wendy's Studio 490 Embossing Paste.  I wanted to add some flowers to the cog, so I spritzed some plain white paper flowers with Altered Orange (shame this is no longer made, I love it... ) and Melted Chocolate Dylusions... and then for a smidge of sparkle, Marigold Cosmic Shimmer mists.  A quick spritz of Black Marble and the flowers were ready to assemble.   The word is an Adage Ticket and I added a few bits of metal stuff from my collection.  Finishing touches were smidges of Treasure Gold to add more bling to the piece and voila... done!

As ever, thanks for looking!  Today we are watching the BTCC from Croft (sad face we didn't get up there to see it live but apparently, it is baaad rain so I am not too upset about that now lol)   So... that just leaves me to say... GO PLATO!   Have a great day!  TTFN

Hi Hels this cog is just GORGEOUS. You think of cogs as a manley thingy, but you have made this so feminine. Love it. Aren't you glad you can watch it in comfort rather than getting soaked! Have a fab day hugs Debbie R xx

I so agree with Debbie R about cogs and perceptions. When you think about it cogs make everyone's world move.

phew - I think I have just made it .....http://artandcraftandstuff.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/anniversary-book.html - loving the cog. All your pieces look great on screen.... but having seen some of them in real life, I I know the screen doesn't do them justice. x
