Alphabetty Birdy...

... teeeheee, I have been playing this morning with some inks and papers and stamps... you know, the usual stuff that makes me happy... and have altered another CD *mmm, this is getting a bit of an addiction LOL*... this time using Vintage Shabby papers to cover the CD and then inking and stamping onto them...I remember last time I did an altered CD a few peeps asked me what I used as glue... the answer is Claudine's Multi Medium... tis THE best for this type of thing as it sticks to most surfaces and is really smooth too... I apply it with a bit of Cut & Dry foam so that means I don't overload the surface...so no nasty bubbles :O))

I added some bits and bobs to the covered sides... Tim's Alterations - those are my favest thing of this year I think... I love the shabby flower that I build up to make a crysanthemum... it looks so good in loads of different colours...

The birdy, isn't he just soo cute... I have cut him out of Grungepaper and then inked with Pumice Stone *oh yes, that is another fave from this year LOL* and then used a Mini Alphabet stamp to decorate his body *hence the daft title to this post*

I made the hanger the same way as the others... Swivel Clasps... beads on thin sticky things with a bobble on the end... no idea what these are called but if you thread the bead/pearl on and twist the top over you get a little charm... I know jewellry makers out there are probably shaking their heads at my thickness... please put me out of my misery and tell me what they are called!! ROFL All the stashy bits I used are available from The Artistic Stamper.

So... have you been to see Jennie today??? You have got until midnight to be in with a chance of winning Blog Candy... all you have to do is answer a question.. now I could give you the answer cos I know it... ok, I will give you a hint... the answer is between 1 and 100 ... oooh, I am a meany aren't I? And, and, and, I am dead excited cos tomorrow see's the start of the brand new Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog... we launch at midnight and there is a challenge, with candy... speaking of which... the Sunday Stamper tomorrow has some candy up for grabs too... please do pop back tomorrow to see what the new theme is and all the deets... tis fabby candy, even if I do say so myself ;o)) Thanks for looking... what you up to today??? I am just about to make my Sunday Stamper entry and then I am going to listen to Alan Carr on Radio2 at 6pm... he is soooooooo funny, if you get chance to listen do tune in... anyways... am offski now.. don't forget to hop on over to Jennie's place! The Leopard Queen Meets 490...

...afternoon... tis me again... I know, two posts in one day... I am in the mood for waffling LOL You know the cake... yep, that stonkingly calorific choccy one... well, to go with it, I made a card... it was for an 18th so I wanted it a bit different and the girly who was turning 18 is so lovely and really special...so I used the Leopard Queen Stampotique stamp... along with some Studio 490 stamps to make the embelllie... and I then used Two Sticks by Stampotique and gave them a spikey headdress each... this has to be one of my favest stamps *er, you know I say that all the time but I really mean it with this one... it is so versatile!*

Now, I know that a lot of peeps are a bit sceptical about Stampotique and I know they are considered to be a bit "Marmite" in that you either love 'em or loathe 'em... but how can you not like Two Sticks? I did the colouring using ProMarkers... hence the state of my desk on Wednesday... and typed out a sentiment which was cut with Nesties and then distressed on the edges with Distress Ink. The stamps etc are available from The Stamp Attic... which BTW... if you check the webby over the weekend(ish) has some exciting news coming soon... all I will say is that...you can see a bit more of me... if you want to ;O)) *don't worry, am not going to be stripping LMAO*

Apparently... I have been told *thank you everyone BTW*... my latest project for Craft Stamper has made the front cover...but... erm.. well, you know we moved house? Well, I am a right slacker and have been meaning to "get around" to telling them my new addy... well it just serves me right cos I have had texts, emails and Facebook messages telling me my art is on the front... but... I haven't seen it!!! How frustrating!!!! Tis me own fault but...*how many "buts" can I get into one paragraph!!!* I was wondering... if any of you loverly peeps might be able to send me a piccie of the front so I can see it... I know, sad, but I am a teensy *ok a HUGE amountly* excited!! Anyways... I am off to have another lay down... been overdoing it so the old back is giving me some jip today... Thanks for looking...TTFN

Cake & Chips...

... mmmm... cake! But first... chips! Not chippy chips though... today is Friday, which means that it is my DT day for Bubbly Funk... I played with some Distress Inks and Maya Road and Tando Creative Chipboard... and came up with this little wall hanging... To see how I made it... please click HERE :O))

So... I have been waffling on about the choccy cake that I made the other day... and I remembered to take some pics of it before it was scoffed... I am assuming it has been scoffed by now - it was for Andrea's daughter's 18th and I am sure that there won't be much left of it now! It has become a tradition that I make the birthday cake whenever it is one of my friends birthday's... you would think that they'd get bored with the same old cake - well not the same cake, I make a new one each time, otherwise there would be a bit of a... erm... mould issue ROFL... but it is a little bit tasty, even if I do say so myself LOL

So... the cake... covered in choccy icing (frosting for my American pals) and then a Cadbury's Flake or two... and some Caramel Nibbles... have you tried these yet??? They are like a chocolate Button...with attitude! They have a slice of caramel in the middle...and are very very very more-ish... to the point that I didn't use a full bag on the cake... so it would have been rude not to eat the few that were left over... I am paying the price of it today though...I have woken up with the most enormous zit on my chin *oh, I am soooo tempted to squeeze it but I am being good and ignoring it... thing is, it's soooo big that no one else could possibly ignore it ROFL*

Another thank you for all the lovely comments on the WOYWW post from...erm... Wednesday... I am planning a marathon *not the choccy bar that was called Marathon and then for some reason changed it's name to Snickers... does anyone know why they did this???* ... where was I? See, I am off on a tangent again LOL Ah, yes, I am planning an enormously huge blog hop this afternoon cos I want to visit everyone's desks... it is lovely to be go and see friends and family in the real world... but it sometimes really takes over my blogging life ROFL Anyways... thanks for looking... and... have a goodly day! Pssssst....

....ssshhhh, tis me... just creeping in to give a quicky hellooooo...and say THANK YOU for your feedbacks and idea's etc for my LOVE hanging (featured on post below) and... say...SORRY... for not visiting anyone...well, I had fully intended to spend the odd hour this evening, you know, hoppity skipping around Bloglandia to visit you lovely WOYWW'ers... and... guess what??? The train home... first of all... cancelled... then delayed... apparently a nawty train up the line had burst into flames, been doused and then burst into flames again! How inconvenient....sooooo... I was late getting home... and... my poor little AlfieCat missed me so I had to give him a cuddle... then Grim had missed me... so I gave him one too * a cuddle...dirty minds ROFL*

*for a brief interlude in the inane wafflings..here is one of the pieces that I did for the Craft Stamper PVA Crackle piece that didn't get used in the mag... look at the birdy...ain't he just soooo cute!*

I had to LOL at some of those comments left though... especially Rosie... who said that the LOVE hanger wasn't my style so she'd happily take it off my hands...with some cake too LOL Nice try hun ;O)) Oh and that Minxy said more or less the same thing too :O)) Loving your idea's for altering the hanging... and one idea which I thought was GENIUS was from Darcy... who suggested making a background for the hanger...which could then be changed when I got bored with it... how clever! I think the general concensus was to alter it...so that is what I will do! Erm...soon, like, erm...well, wait n see cos I have just had one of those lightbulb moments!

Another angle for the birdy housey thingy (available from The Artistic Stamper)

Anyways... the cake is for tomorrow (nearly today now!!) so not eaten yet... and Grim is over the moon cos Andrea made him some Caramel Shortbread... but get this... even though she went all out and made this for him... a huge box of it I lugged back from Kent... he said... she still can't sit on the chair ... and if he goes out, he will take it with him... I give up ROFL Right, I gotta dash...this was a quickie post and it is really long already.. you see, this is what I have to put up with... verbal dia-wotsits...Thanks again for all your loverly comments...muchly appreciated... have a goodly day and pics of cake will be here later Thursday...TTFN

WOYWW... Mrs Messy Is Back In Town...

...yes indeedily... I just knew that it was only a matter of time before I 'fessed up and showed you the state of my room... I promised myself I would tidy away properly after each crafty session... I promised that stamps would be placed on their proper covers... and I am sure I may have been a tad smug *who me???* on previous Wednesday's about the lovely tidyness of my desk... Have you heard about this phenomenon called WOYWW??? It is headed up by Mrs Dunnit who started this addictive craze a while back and now has 100 plus peeps showing their workspaces each week... not seen it??? Hop on over to Julia's blog to see all the news. Before I waffle on anymore... I didn't get chance to get to as many desks as I wanted to last week... it is baaaad of me and I promise to try better this week... and I really appreciate all your lovely comments that you have left for me... *erm.. I have just noticed that the embossing powders drawer that I opened to photograph last week....is still open... see, that is how bad I am at the moment!! I need HELP!*

So, when I went away for my *ahem* special birthday in June, I popped into the most fabby shop and got a gorgeous metal wall hanging... it says LOVE and it is there, just to the side of my desk... I can't decide whether to alter it or not...whatch fink? Alcohol inks and some pearls etc or leave be?

I am on cake delivering duties today... piccie of said cake will be shown at a later date... ie, after the birthday girl has seen it... the smell of it has driven me mad all evening though... chocolate cake, covered in chocolate icing (frosting for my American pals) and then covered with Flake and then decorated with Caramel Nibbles...mmmm.... hope she likes it!!! Thanks for looking... see ya in Blogland... TTFN

Curiously Alcoholic...

...*not me!!* AND...Tinted...which is the theme for this weeks Compendium of Curiosities challenge which is hosted by none other than that loverly lady Linda... if you click on her name I have arranged for Blogger to give you a free trip to the US of A to see her blog...*see, I am good like that LOL* and her AMAZING NEWS!!!! BUT!!!! I am not going to gob off and tell everyone what it is... you will have to see for yourselves :O)) Tis so worth it, believe me!!!

I made another tag to go with the other 6 ... cannot believe it is week 7 already! Am not telling you what the technique is this week either... oh I am being so restrained here it is almost tooo much! Needless to say, I chucked a load of Distress inks, Fragments, Alcohol Inks, Lost & Found papers and some lace n ribbon at my tag... This is a technique I need to practice...all three Fragments have been done this way but the pics are naff as usual and they don't show up as well as they could... I know, I know, a poor crafter blames her camera and all that ... but you believe me... don'tcha??? ROFL

Cor blimey! Yesterday was BRILLIANT!!!! I was a lucky girlie and got taken to the theatre... in the West End of London... by Jennie, whose incredibly talented daughter is Asst Stage Manager on a new production of Shirley Valentine... starring Meera Syall... alone, on the stage... doing a monologue just as the play was written... Willy Russell certainly knew how to get inside the mind of a 40 plus year old woman... OMG she was A-MAYZ-ING! Funny, witty, comedic timing was perfect and with the right amount of melancholy too... and... her scouse accent was spot on... honestly, if you get chance, go and see this play... I have seen a fair few plays in my time but this one was by far the bestest I have seen. The play is running alongside Educating Rita... which I mentioned yesterday is one of my favest films... so *cough cough, hint hint* I would lurve to see that too ;o)) click HERE to see all the deets etc about the plays.

So, have you noticed that I am showing signs of refinement here??? Talking about films, plays... next I will be admitting my love of Shakespeare and Kipling...whoops I just did! don't worry though, I am still as common as muck and ate my fancy posh burger that we got afterwards in Covent Garden, with my fingers...and the onion rings too... but I did use a fork to get the chips into my chops, I mean, I am trying to be ladylike here ROFL Anyways.. time for me to head off into the kitchen to make a choccy birthday cake for my friends' daughters' 18th... then I need to do my roots... too much grey showing thru... a sign of... I was gonna say old age... but I shall take Shirley's view and say, a life lived :O)) So, whatcha up to today??? I hope whatever you are doing it is a goodly day for you and... don't forget to check out Linda's blog for the deets! Thanks for looking... TTFN

Tickets Please...

... oooooh, yes... tickets a-plenty on this tag I just made... I know, I know, I should be tucked up in my bed but... *pauses for dramatic effect* I can't sleep... so instead of sitting downstairs drinking coffee and reading my book, I thought I would quietly venture into the Room of Stash... erm, nothing quiet about me... I mean, I can't even look at someone quietly... and there is a really creaky floorboard right outside my door... which no matter how I try to sidestep it, I always end up stamping on it... *with my foot, not with the rubber variety LOL* and Grim is on earlies, which means he is up at Stoooopid O'Clock... so far, so good; he is still snoring...I mean sleeping soundly (literally!) and that is after creaking floorboards and me dropping my big acrylic block.. normally, it wouldn't get dropped but why is it... when you try to be ultra quiet you end up making more noise than normal??? Or is that just me, the Fairy Elephant in disguise ROFL

Anyways, after all that prattling on you are probably wondering why I haven't tired myself out with all this inane drivel... well, I just have a few more yawns left in me to tell you that I made this tag using... Distress Inks and those loverly new Ticket stamps... you know the ones, I may not have mentioned that they are Tim's 100th Collection and these ones are signed in GOLD??? Nope, not mentioned it before... oh... I did... whoops, there goes me bragging again LOL

As well as those stamps and DI's, I added some Idea-ology, Prima Flowers and some manky old lace that is a really yukky colour but actually looks ok on "olde worlde stylee" stuff. The Tickets were stamped indivually and each one was masked off so it looks like they are layered... I added some of my own fair hand on a couple of them and the one at the bottom has my name stamped on... Anyways... I am getting sleepy now *bet you are too!!!* but before I go off to the Land of Nod ... Using all those Tickets has got me thinking... what is your favourite film? I have several (mmm, you knew I was gonna say that din'tcha??) Firstly there is Educating Rita, total classic... then there is Goodfella's... brill film, seen it about 100 times (seriously, I have!) then there are the musicals... Oliver! is my fave of those... then there's the old Bette Davis films...ah... Now, Voyager being my fave of hers... box of tissues highly recommended for that one...so, do tell, what film could you watch 100 times?? Have a goodly day everyone, thanks for looking...and... TTFN!

Sunday Stamper - Week 113 - Love Of My Life...

...Morning Stampers! Many thanks to everyone who joined in with the challenge last week... loads of divine art has been made and I just love visiting you all to see your interpretations of the theme. Like last week's theme, the one with the twist, this week we have another twist on the song title theme... so *wonder how many times I can get the word theme into one sentence ROFL* the theme for this weeks challenge is... LOVE &/or LIFE... or both if you feel like it :O)) Now, have you heard of this song??? It is another one of my faves... oh I know, I have so many faves don't I??? Fickle creature that I am... I have been humming this one all day... it's an album track off A Night At The Opera by Queen and seeing as we haven't had a Queen song for yonks, I thought it was high time we remembered the amazing voice of the one and only Mr Freddie Mercury!

For my entry, I decided to use the Compendium of Curiosities theme this week on most of the bits on my art... *if you haven't heard of the CofC challenge if you hop over to Linda's blog, it tells you all about it there* The frame that I used as a base is actually half a box that I just took the hinges and clasp off... perfect size etc for a shadow box. I painted the whole lot with Traditional Tan paint *as if I would ever use anything else!* and then used some Terra in patches - this also covered up the holes left by the hinges etc. I heat dried the Terra to make it go warty... I love this texture! I then slapped a load of Rock Candy Cracklepaint onto it, let it dry and then coloured it with Brushed Corduroy DI and then went over with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist which I dried as I spritzed.

The mini canvases and mini frame were covered with different papers, using Claudine's Multi Medium as an adhesive. I coloured these with DI's and then a few had some stamping on... note that this piece has got stamping on it... just not that much LOL

I added a load of bits and bobs to the canvases and frame; from the Idea-ology range, my box of junky bits and best of all... the Letterpress letters that spell LIFE - I have been hoarding these for a while now and they are too nice to have tucked away, they needed using :O)) On top of the F there is a little doggy from Monopoly... I salvaged this from a really old boardgame that was going in to the tip... I have some other of the little metal charms... they are so cute! The little birdy cage has a weensy birdy hanging in it... this is actually a pendant from Avon... I saw it in the catalogue and had to have one to use on an arty thing... the chain is really long too so that is double useful!

So... to join in with the challenge all you need to do is make a piece of art... card, ATC, Tag, tis up to you... include the theme and some stamping... then leave me a comment here with a link to the place you are showing your art and I can hop on over to visit you! The challenge will stay open until 21:00 Saturday July 31st '10. Thanks for looking and I hope you have a fab Sunday... I think that if it is a nice day Grim has decided that he going to try and sort out the garden... mmm, I will be tea making and standing about looking...erm... very useful ROFL TTFN

Shaping Up....

...Over on The Lots To Do Challenge the theme this week is SHAPES. I decided to use one big shape to work on... and then add lots of other shapes onto the piece to alter it...

I started with an old CD and stuck some paper from the Lost & Found Paper Stack... I used the back of the papers - the plain sides, so I could stamp onto them and I stuck them down using Claudines Multi Medium... this is truly fabby adhesive for big areas :O)) I blended some Distress inks over the edges of the papers so they were the colour I wanted to work with... and yep, for a change I used Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Crushed Olive and Forest Moss LOL

I used a new Studio 490 stamp for the background - this is so cool, like lots of big bubbles... and the other side has a Tim script stamp. I also used another of those new 100th Collection by Tim... you know, that new set I have that are signed in gold ROFL

The centre pieces are shapes cut from Tim's Alterations using some more of the papers for the underneath part of the butterfly wings, some Grungepaper and some Grungeboard too. These were all coloured with Distress Inks to match them with the papers. I used a couple of... Swivel Clasps (thanks peeps for letting me know what they are called when I called them thingy's the other day LOL) and added some pearls and chandelier gems (Maya Road)... I added some more Idea-ology... namely two Memo Pins to make the antennae for the butterfly... they are filled with a little number which is another of the new 490 sets I got... filled with Glossy Accents and then popped under butterfly.

So... what are you up to today? I am going to make the Sunday Stamper for tomorrow... don't forget to check back to see what the new theme is :O)) Grim has been reading the comments about the chair too... has told me that instead of a wooden fence around it, he is thinking of arranging for Pallisade fencing to be installed... imagine that!! My living room would look like a prison camp ROFL I think I am going to have to step in and stop this happening and say that no one is allowed on the chair except for me and AlfieCat!!! LOL Anyways.. thanks for looking... have a goodly day... TTFN...

On The Funky Road...

...Blimey! Another Friday appears already! That means that it is my day for the Bubbly Funk DT... and I made a tag using some Tim Holtz stamps, Distress Inks and some LUSH Tando Creative chipboard... totally inspired by one of the 12 Tags of Christmas '09 by that clever American chap called Tim... the deets on how I made it all can be found on the Bubbly Scrumptious Blog here.

Did you spot something on this tag too??? Didya??? Go on, tell me you did!!! Look at the ickle Adage Ticket... do you see what is stamped onto it??? YES!!!!!!!!!!! It is one of Tim's new stamps from his 100th Collection - you know the ones that he autographed only 100 in Gold ink... bless her, Pamicat from the ATT group managed to grab for me when she was at Carson the other week... well, they arrived today! I say "they" as at the same time she also got me a couple of Wendy Vecchi's new sheets... I have to admit here and now that I was soooo excited to open the envelope... and now I have a little story to tell you about something that Grim said... I was so excited about the arrival of my new rubber babies that I had to show him, pointing out that the set was autographed by none other than Tim himself, you know, that Tim who had not that long ago been holding those stamps in his talented and more than likely inky hands... well, Grim said... I cannot believe that he said this... he said... *note I am still shaking with shock at such a thing...* "that he could get that scrawl off the bottom of the set using some Surgical Spirit!" Oh, he is a card, isn't he!!! Needless to say, I hastened to the Room of Stash and hid said stamp set... I know he wouldn't do that but... I am not taking any chances!

I now have four things with Mr Holtz's autograph on. The first thing he autographed for me was my very first Tim stamp... the very first time I stood there drooling, I mean watching him doing his demo's...that was in Feb 07! The same day he signed a mini suitcase I had altered...one of my first attempts at altering I hasten to add too..hence the nasty yellow inside.. I didn't alter that cos Tim had signed it and it would be sacriledge to cover over that! Then a piece of art I made and finally the 100th collection...oh, I am sooo lucky!

Anyways... tis nearly 2am and Grim is just home from work so I am off to make sure he can't get access to my stash ROFL... oh and the saga with the chair... thank you to Andrea n Jennie for making me laugh with you comments... and finally... I have been asked a couple of times how I stuck the bookpage to the CD I altered this week... I used... Claudines Multi Medium :O)) thanks for looking... have a goodly day! TTFN

ReElly On A Roll...*Take II*

...mwhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa... she said in an evil laughy voice... my work is done... I have found the real Jennie and reinstated her into her workroom/studio/room so full of stash if I spent 100 days in there I would never see all of it ROFL, done my bestest to make a mess, leave a trail of Grungepaper cuttings behind me and erm... very nearly break her whizzy Big Shot thingy *and I mean... so close that I had visions of visiting the local A&E having said machine removed from an orifice ROFL* SO! I went to see Jennie yesterday - she did let me in after all, but only cos I was carrying a Grand Caffe Creme Frappuchino from StarBucks... *you see, if you say something a bit cheeky on your blog about someone it is always best to then approach them with a gift :O))*

Right, so, after sitting and faffing with bits of paper and then sitting and stuffing with a big plate of Nacho's it was time for the real Jennie to finally come out to play... yes, followers of WOYWW will have noticed a change in Jennie's deskily habits of late and I am afraid to report back that... she tidies up after each project! *I reckon that she has spent too much time in my Room of Stash and was so impressed with the tidy state of it that she made a resolve to be a neater crafter... mmmm, wonder how long that will last though LOL* Anyways, such was the tidyness (sp?) of her desk that I spotted a couple or three little wooden bobbins... and next to them were some Tattered Florals pre-cut shapes... light bulb moment... you know that I LURVE Mrs Wendy Vecchi and her fantabulous 490 range? Well, Jennie had fair begged me to let her touch my 490 set, so being the generous gal that I am, I let her play with a few (and it was just a few, yes, I truly am that possessive... only joking... as if I could carry a whole set!!) and you know that Mrs Wendy Vecchi is bringing out some new Art Parts soon... well, I am a total copycat and hold my inky paws up when I admit that the idea wasn't originally mine... it was Wendy's... and I borrowed it and tweaked it... and made a little piece that is totally inspired by the amazing art she has been blogging recently using her new Art Parts. Now, over in the UK we have to wait an inordinate amount of time before we can get new stash coming out at CHA... and me being ever so slightly impatient to try Wendy's new idea's and Art Parts... improvised!

Jennie's piece looks totally different to this one, for a start, there are butterflies on hers and none on mine... (if you click on her name you can be transported magically to her blog) I used a massive old jar to draw around to get the mountboard base, die cut a Tattered Floral big flower *nearly killing the Big Shot in the process...least said about that the better... all I will say is PHEW!* Slapped loads of DI's onto stamped and cut out flowers and leaves, used DI's on the bases, Trad Tan on the bobbin, tried to stamp on bobbin, goofed up the stamping, covered said goofed stamping in Tissue Tape... didn't like that too muchly so then wound some threads of knotted string around it... hey voila! A totally inpired by my favourite artist in the whole world ever... yep, that be Wendy V... arty piece... I love it! And now... CANNOT WAIT to get the Art Parts over here and into my room of stash... so pleeeeeeeease, Mr Maker of Art Parts, do some very quickly and very lots of them and bung 'em on a ship destined for my house! Grovel, beg and all of that! Anyways... again... thank you for looking and reading to *almost* the end of yet another shockingly long post...

I shall close by just telling you that Grim has been reading all your comments about "the chair". He is muchly amused by the little squabble that seems to have developed between Andrea and Jennie about who gets to sit on said chair... and he has told me that... he is going to build a fence around it for when peeps some to stay! *although, I know him best and just know that caramel shortcake will most deffo'ly be the best way to bribe him to take down said fence...* but come on ... can you imagine how it could be for me... shavings of wood all over the carpet, wood stain in the living room... and Grim sitting on his chair, fence all around him, watching TV thru a gate in it that no doubt would be deadlocked as soon as his bum left the seat! On that note I shall bid you all a very goodly day and say thank you for your WOYWW comments, I am going to get myself hopping around to see everyone this afternoon :O)) I'm off for a fag and a can of Quattro....hey, does anyone else listen to Absolute 80's? Oh, this is one of their jingles... obviously I wouldn't be having a can of Quattro cos they don't make it anymore... anyone remember it though? Vile fruity flavoured semi fizzy drink of the mid 80's... made from 4 different E numbers, I mean... fruits of course... see, I am off on one of my tangents again and shall wear your eyes out at this rate!!! Am off before I start again ROFL.... TTFN...

WOYWW... AlfieCat Takes Over...& Some Texture

...cor blimey O'Reilly, where on Earth has the last week whizzed off to??? Anyone else suffering with FastForward Syndrome where it seems like only yesterday that it was last week??? *except on a Sunday of course, when yesterday would be last week ROFL* Anyways... today is Wednesday which means that the loyal and faithful followers of The Leader of The Desk Hoppers, also known as Mrs Julia Dunnit... hop all around the globe, looking at each others workspaces and on many occasions, furry friends...if you are stumped and wonder what I am waffling on about today, click HERE to see Julia's blog, the deets are all on there... and the hop commences!

First of all... I made a big mistake made yesterday... I spent a couple of hours lounging on the new sofa *and whizzing backwards and forwards on the recliner - but don't tell Grim* and in my absence a certain little black n white furry fluff literally booted me out of my room of stash! Indeedily, AlfieCat has commandeered my chair and desk and even did a spot of reading - that old book that I tore up to use for art has been entertaining him all evening *actually, that is a fib but it makes him sound really intelligent LOL*

So, my desk looks pretty much the same as any other week... so I thought I would pop a piccie of one of my drawers on... and no, I am not going to lower the tone by showing a photo of my pants... the computer screen ain't big enough for that anyway LOL... inside this particular drawer is a little stash of Embossing Powders... some of them are the original first ones I ever bought over 7 years ago! Others are recent additions... the UTEE especially - I loooove UTEE loads and loads and the new orange and red ones have already been earmarked for a project that is still inside my head :O))

I am posting this early today as I am off on my travels... letting the train take the strain and all that... I am going to actually inspect Jennie's desk - to tell you the truth, I think someone kidnapped the real Jennie cos that desk of hers has been waaaay too tidy this past few weeks... I shall remedy that... I am going to put my messy head on and go in and leave it looking really untidy *mind, you, if Jennie reads this before I get there, chances are she won't answer the door ROFL* Oh, yes, the piece of art that is just above this waffle is my DT thing for the Fiskarettes which is showing today... I used some Terra and a ShapeBoss! I know... you wouldn't expect to hear those two products mentioned together but... to see how I did it... please click HERE... oh and I would loooove it if you could leave me a comment on there too... let me know whatcha fink and all that! Anyways... I shall bid you a goodly day and say... thanks for looking... reading... staying til the end *well if you haven't stayed til the end of these waffly words then you won't know I am saying thank you but... oh dear, I am off on a tangent again ROFL* And.. cos I am out all day I may be late in visiting you *I am leaving AlfieCat in charge of Grim...or is the other way round LOL* ... like I probably won't get around at all today so...Til tomorrow... TTFN!

Altering a Disc....Oh...

... I know, another rubbish title, but bear with me, I am still in a right old fluster after my visit to see Edward * I mean Eclipse* yesterday afternoon... put simply, if you haven't seen it, you need to go... cos it is FAB! The whole experience was made miles better 'cos there is a special offer on at the cinema, if you get a large drink (which I did - a blue IceBlast *the best drink in the world*) you get large popcorn cheaper than a medium size, well it would have been rude not to take advantage of that. However, his Grimness decided not to have popcorn... which meant that he stuffed half of mine, tis a good job I love him otherwise there would have been a scrap LOL 'Twas also great to hear about your popcorn preferences...mmm, butter on popcorn??? I haven't seen that over here in the UK, but, I am seriously liking the sound of that! Anyways... enough of my waffling... today I have been getting inky and messy with an old CD...

Covering both sides in paper - one side with the Vintage Shabby pack and the other with another of those book pages... then inking them with Distress Inks, adding some Grungey bits and bobs and a bit of Idea-ology...The hanger is one of those Idea-ology things that I can never remember the name of, I attached a smaller version of the Idea-ology thing that I can never remember the name of... and then used some Jump Rings to attach pearls and crystals...

Do you see the little ticket??? I hit on the idea of being a scrooge and just using one Adage Ticket but having both sides on view... so the stamped sentiment is for the flowery side and the Soar for the birdy who has been freed from his cage.

The cage was cut from Grungepaper using Tim's Alterations - I inked it with Embossing Ink and then used Vintage Photo Distress Powders... once it had cooled, I rubbed off the release crystals and then applied a dab of gold paint to make the cage look rusty. Now, I have read about this rusty stuff you can buy to put on Chipboard etc but haven't seen it in the shops... if anyone knows what it is... please tell me :O))

I am in a state of hightened excitement today too... 'cos our new furniture arrived this morning, blimey, we ordered it 13 weeks ago so I think I have been uber patient... so, guess what I will be doing this afteroon...yep, alternating between lounging on the new sofa and playing with the recliner chair... poor old Grim has to work so I get a choice of seat this evening... I know he will baggsy the chair... and he has even said that when anyone comes to stay he is going to put a beach towel on it in the middle of the night to "reserve" it... now, I am thinking, that could be a really UK-ish joke that no one will have the faintest idea what I mean... remember the Carling advert from the 80's?? I will shut up now I think ROFLMAO... right, off to lounge about... Thanks for looking and ... TTFN

Curiously Medium...

...Whooohooooo...tis another Monday post which means... it is time for the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge, hosted by the uber talented and ever so loverly Linda... I am always waffling on on my posts about how I made the art, what I used etc... but on this one I am going to *try* keep things to a minimum so you can go and see Linda's Blog and see what the theme is this week...mmm, it isn't going to be easy not spilling the beans but I will try...

I made a tag! Yay! Actually, I may have mentioned before *just the odd couple of hundred of times* that I love making tags and I am making a tag for each of these challenges so I have one big pile of tags to make into something else at the end of it... erm... there are 35 challenges...so the thing I make is gonna be a biggy LOL

The usual stashy bits were used; Distress Inks - Pumice Stone... which is my fave of the new bunch, along with the others that are faves too... but... Pumice Stone is clever...because... if you put it with blues, it goes smokey, if you put it with oranges, it goes beigey and if you put it with reds it goes... grey! So, I used some Idea-ology, some Grungepaper which was cut using the Tattered Florals Alterations Die...I used an old hymn bookpage for adding some torny bits... using the "technique" for this weeks challenge on the bookpage, the Idea-ology and the Grungepaper... can you tell what it is yet? I am doing so well not blabbing what the theme is!!! So... I then got some really ancient old lace that I found in a junk shop... rolled it up and faffed with it til it sort of resembled a flower and popped this onto the middle of the big flower... and then used some new crochet trim and tied this across the middle of the tag. I did do some stamping on this tag but you can't really see it cos I... erm... got so carried away with the embellishing...

So, how did I do??? Did you suss it out as soon as I started to waffle or are you anxious to hop off to Linda's blog to see all about it??? Anyways... I am off now... to get ready to go and see Edward, I mean Eclipse...and believe me, the bucket of Popcorn I plan of scoffing will be no where near "medium"... it will be HUGE! Thanks for looking... and just out of interest... do you prefer Salt or Sweet Popcorn? I am a Sweet girl.. *you knew that anyways though :O))* and Grim prefers Salt... which means... I get to stuff the whole bucket myself ROFL TTFN...

A Binding Journey...& 720!

...Following on from yesterdays mammoth Sunday Stamper post (deets of which can be found HERE) I have an annoucement to make! Yes sirreeeeee, I am making my 720th Blog post! Can you believe it? I can, actually, cos I do like to talk a lot LOL...and... I have had my blog for nearly three years!!!! So, I said yesterday about how I made my Sunday Stamper entry... and here are a few more pics of the pages within the book... a quick reminder what the book looks like...

And here are some of the pages:

The offcuts of mountboard I used were white on one side but different colours on the other sides, so I used some Multi Medium and covered the layers with Tim's Retro Grunge Stack... I had a few queries about the papers... like when was I going to show the layers with said papers on.. actually, two appeared here yesterday - I did forget to mention that... I used to plain side of the papers, not the patterned sides, as I wanted to be able to add some colour and stamping which wouldn't have shown up too well on the patterned sides...

Apologies for not being clearer yesterday - see, that is what happens when you read something written by me, it is hotpotch and all over the place... I have a baaad habit of going off at a tangent and then I lose my train of thought!

So...where was I again??? ROFL Ah yes, the pages in the book... I remember telling you yesterday that all of the stamping was done with Tim Holtz Collection stamps... and that I had to use just the one Studio 490 stamp... that was 'cos I wanted the word Believe... DOH! How stooopid am I? Tim has a Believe (and a mini version) in his Christmas sets... thank you to Helen and Sue for being clever and showing me how dim I truly can be LOL ;o)) * I actually put it down to forgetfulness in my old age*

I tried to do a few different techniques with the stamping.. this is one of my favey pages.. but I just cannot get it to photograph - basically, I coloured the mountboard with Distress Inks... Tea Dye and Peeled Paint... dried them completely with a heat gun... then I stamped the tree in Peeled Paint, immediately dusted Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls over the top, dusted off the excess and spritzed the image with water and heat dried it... the DI bleeds out from under the PP, so the PP is set with the actual image and the DI comes out to give it a watery effect...cool huh? And the lion, he is one of my fave Tim stamps (yep, another one LOL) and I haven't used him for an age... so here he is, resplendent with an Idea-ology crown on his bonce.

So... today is Monday... and I am fair bristling with excitment... first of all cos it is Monday, which means a new Compendium of Curiosities challenge later on.. and... because... Grim is being a total darling and taking me to see Eclipse... I CANNOT WAIT *to see Edward again*!!!!! When we first met (me and Grim not me and Edward.. that would be waaay too weird! *but on second thoughts, weird but...erm...nice ROFLMAO... stop it Hels, you dirty old lady!!!! Grim asked me to go to... a football match with him - to see his beloved Luton Town. Now, never being one for the footy, I went under sufference and we made a deal that if I went to a match with him, he would take me to the flicks...mmm, guess how many matches I have been to??? I would estimate about... 40 odd... guess how many times we have been to the cinema??? FIVE!!!! And how long have we been together??? Knocking on TEN YEARS!!! LOL So, I guess that he owes me!! *I won't mention that a lot of times I have been to matches purely cos I get to have a pie at the ground... and I love pies... you would never have guessed that in a million years would ya???* And... and, and... we are going to Nando's afterwards...oooooh, I love Nando's - I go for the hot option - Grim goes for the blow your head off and make you sweat option ROFL Anyways... I shall be back later with my tag for the C of C, hopefully... until then... what is your fave film? Are you a Twilight Saga nut like me? Do you love the action movies... or are you a chick flick kinda gal? Do tell!!! Thanks for looking ... TTFN...
