Birdies & Flowers - An Altered Canvas

Hey Peeps

Back to my "normal" kinda crafting today and a little mini canvas that I altered for my friend's birthday.

I used a 4" x 3" canvas, coating the surface with Gesso to prime and then used Chalk Inks - Blue Lagoon and Chestnut - to colour the canvas. I inked up some 1" Stampbord tiles using the same colours and then stamped some of the fabby inchie stamps from Inkadinkado then just scratched the Stampbord to highlight some of the stamped areas.

I used some more Inkadinkado clear stamps to decorate the canvas surface, stamping using Timber Brown StaZon.

The little bit of beady fringe was added once the piece was assembled and I used Glossy Accents to stick this to the back of the canvas...tis the bestest glue for me!!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a great day....we have 30 odd degrees forecast...far too hot for me so I will probably be found in the shade, near a fan and with a large icey cold drink to keep cool me!

Tilda Goes Green & Pink

Hi again.

Another attack of the cuties and another Tilda card today:

Using Basic Grey papers for the background mats and colouring Tilda in with ProMarkers, I added a couple of Nestie shapes and a birthday sentiment by Penny Black. The flowers are Prima's which I layered together and then popped a paper flower in the middle of each one.

I added little drops of Glossy Accents around the Nestie and also onto the flowers to make little dewdrops.

Thanks for looking :O))

Tilda Says It With Flowers

Hey Peeps

I have made a few cards recently, here is one of the new Tilda ones I made:

I used ProMarkers to colour in the Tilda and then using Stitchels stamps and co-ordinating papers, stamped, cut out and layered up the flowers to make some embellishments. I added a few little paper flowers to the middles of the Stitchels just to finish them off and added drops of Glossy Accents to make little dewdrops on the flowers.

The papers are from Basic Grey and I used a couple of Nesties to make the background mats for the message and Tilda to sit on. The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp.

Thanks for looking

Dream Today - An Altered Canvas Board

Hi Peeps,

I just cannot get enough of those Studio 490 stamps by Wendy Vecchi LOL :O)) **and it just so happens that I may just have aquired another couple of sets LOL**

Here is a little Hanging Art piece I made using a 5" x 7" canvas oil board. I used Juniper and Purple Twilight Adirondack pigment inks again...yes, I sooo love those colours together....and I used Grungepaper to make the embellishments. I coloured the Grungepaper with the Juniper ink using Cut n Dry foam to blend, then stamped with Purple Twilight and cut out the pieces. Once they were assembled, I placed them onto the oil board, which I had coloured and stamped with a the gingham background and a variety of leafy stamps.

The beads in the centre of the flowers and butterfly were yet another birthday pressie and I looooove these beads, they are so chunky and the colours are a perfect match!

The chain is from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology range, as is the key that I attached to it. I added a little bit of beady fringing to the bottom of the board just to finish it off prettily.

I have titled this piece Dream Today ... which I think is just about the best thing we can all do!

Thanks for looking

How Cool Is This?????

Hey Peeps

OMG, how cool is this photo?

Grim managed, somehow cos he is ever so clever, to fiddle about with a recent photo of me...making it all grungey and I just had to share it! There is some special computery place that you can upload your pics to and then faff about and make them look different. He has done another one of me which I don't like but will share a very small version of it.....

Told you didn't I? It is a baaaad picture!! LOL *actually I think I look a little bit mad in this one....enough said* ;O))

Oh, I guess I had better share this clever website with you all....so you can all go and get grunged too LOL Click HERE to go there

I am seriously planning on making a frame for the first one....just up my alley, grungey but a little bit colourful! It reminds of the new Tim stamps... you know, the ones that I said I didn't like and would never use and now am desperate to get me grubby little mits on :LOL

Am in the best mood cos I have had good news today ... I am not as poorly as "they" thought and it is such an incredible weight off my mind I can tell you! I am still having to rest up but I am sure that I will be able to make sure I can fit in a bit of creativity too!

Thanks for looking...and thanks for all the well wishes too...means a lot to me ... Hels x

An Altered Canvas - Castles and Swirls

Hi again,

On a roll with the blogging this week! Here is a little 5"x 5" canvas that I altered. I primed the base using Gesso and then once this was dry I mixed up some white paint with a little bit of Taoa Rose pigment and painted this over the surface. When this was dry, I then used some fab new metallic paint that I aquired (using birthday money of course LOL) and sponged this randomly over the surface of the canvas.

Next, using some copper coloured metal from Ten Seconds Studios, I stamped the new Paper Artsy Castles images onto the metal and used a refining tool to make a debossed impression into it. I used another image from the new Geometric Paper Artsy range to make the borders for the sides of the canvas and using the same process, made the debossed pieces.

The little birdies sit atop a piece of metal, stamped with another PaperArtsy stamp, this time one of the fab new phrases, which I debossed and then used a couple of TSS tools/wheels to make patterns in.

Once all the metal was finished, I antiqued it using black paint and then coloured it using the metallic paint. The stamping on the edges of the canvas are more PA stamps...you can see a theme here surely LOL

Thanks for looking :O))

Bright & Beautiful

Hello again,

Here is another tag I have made using Adirondack pigment inks, Grungepaper and my new favest stamps from the Studio 490 range by Wendy Vecchi. Yes, I know, I am always having new favourites but these fab stamps are just so easy to use and perfect for mixing and matching together.

I coloured the tag base with Sunset Orange, Lemonade and Watermelon pigment inks, blending them using Cut n Dry Foam. I did a little bit of random stamping using Wild Plum ink, I inked up the gingham background stamp, laying it flat on the desk and then sort of rolled the tag over parts of the stamp so I picked up bits of the pattern.

I coloured up some Grungepaper and stamped the images and cut them out. I popped them onto the tag using silicone glue and my Tiny Attacher and added some beaded fringing to the bottom of the tag to finish...this doesn't show up too well in the pics tho!

For the flower embellishment, I stamped the image twice using two different colours, cut them out and layered them over each other and then just stamped the center of the flower and cut it out, then I popped this onto the gingham background stamp so it ties in with the rest of the design.

It Has Been A Long Time......

Yikes peeps!

How long since I last posted?! Where has the time got to? I hvaen't been too well :O(( so have been resting up a lot, however, when I have had some spare energy I've made a few bits n bobs and thought it high time I Blog something!

Here is a tag I made using some of the fabulous Studio 490 stamps by Wendy Vecchi ... I was a lucky birthday girl and got three sets so now have another new addiction LOL...just need more of the sets now :O))

To make the tag, I coloured the base with a combination of Juniper and Purple Twilight Adirondack Pigment inks, using Cut n Dry foam to blend the colours. I used some of the background stamps in the 490 sets to create the dappled effect and then stamped some leaves around the edge.

My fave new thing (apart from the 490 stamps) is Grungepaper - I am totally addicted to it and boring old cardstock just ain't doing it for me anymore LOL After colouring the Grungepaper with the Juniper ink, I stamped some of the images and then cut them out, shaped them using my fingers and then attached them to the tag using silicone glue.

I added some little phrases which are also from the 490 sets and attached these with another of my birthday pressies - the new Tiny Attacher from Tim's range of Idea-ology - and then to finish off I stuck some old pearls (which I got in a huge bag of broken chains and beads - don't worry, I haven't attached the family heirlooms!!!) to the centre of the flowers.

Thanks for looking and I promise not to leave it so long next time!! Oh, and BTW, don't you just love the colour combination here? I have always loved the Juniper and Purple combo in the Dabbers, now I have them in the pigment inks there is noooo stopping me!
